Story
Dr. Sebastian Ercus obtained the doctor of dental medicine degree in 2004 continuing family tradition. His father is a dentist focusing on implant dentistry since the early 90s. His aunt, a dentist as well, is proud to have created and owned the first in-house dental lab of her county in the 90s, collaborating with a respected Swedish lab owner based in Stockholm.
Inspired by this constant pursuit of excellence, after graduation Sebastian pursued a one-year implant dentistry proficiency program at the University of Bucharest and a one-year implant dentistry master clinician program with the Global Institute of Dental Education and the UCLA Continuing Education Department under the mentorship of Sascha Jovanovic DDS. Upon completion of implant dentistry training, he enrolled in a two-year full time postgraduate specialty program in Advanced Restorative and Esthetic Dentistry at the University of California Los Angeles Dental School under the mentorship of Edward Mc Laren DDS (prosthodontist and master dental ceramist).
Dr. Ercus has authored and co-authored articles in publications such as Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry, Dentistry Today, Dental Dialogue, Compendium of continuing education in dentistry and Inside Dental Technology.
He’s been in private practice in Brussels since 2011.
He focuses on complex treatments in the anterior segment on implants and natural teeth as well as full mouth oral rehabilitations.
Sebastian received the mandatory CBCT certification (Belgian 3D radiography certification) from Advimago in 2015. A 3D-radiography is the most advanced tool today for implant and prosthetic planning.
He is an active member of the Scientific Board of the French Speaking Belgian Dental Society since 2014.
In 2018 he joined a few passionate dentists as founders of the Belgian Academy of Digital Dentistry (BADD) aiming to contribute to the development of a digital work flow in dentistry.
He lives in Uccle with his wife, also a dentist, and their son Nicolas.
